You are the reaper of Death. This is the final person on Earth. You must decide if they go to Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory based on your own actions. You may choose to befriend this person or not. The choice is yours.
Includes: minor blood, mentions of murder/suicide

Made this project just in time for Gameboy Showdown 2023. It's my first run at GB Studio so I ended up running into a lot of sprite and tile limitations - hence the limited assets and occasional glitch. Nonetheless, I'm proud of how this one came out!

Just wanted to thank everyone for playing! With nearly 1.5k plays in total (combining downloads + browser plays), a feature on Indiepocalypse Edition #42, and its exhibition at Super FESTival 2023, I'm so happy that it got so much attention for a lil game I made willy-nilly for the Gameboy Showdown. Hopefully, I'll find time to participate again this year but until then, stay tuned for future projects!

this game was amazin
Wonderful game. Though it was a strange experience for me because my eldest child has the same name as the protagonist and has Filipino heritage too. Obviously, I had to send her to heaven.

A great short GB styled retro horror visual novel. Tala finding herself desperate to fulfil the longest life that she could possibly live by performing the unthinkable to her own family, then the unthinkable to herself down the line, either due to regret or not being able to live alone on a dying world anymore. Wherever Hell is, wherever Heaven is, wherever Purgatory is, you as the Reaper decide Tala's fate. Thank you for making this short tale Yasmine! ^o^

The young girl forced herself into a situation she wishes she could take back. The desire for survival is the motive behind her crime and the same action would results in her own perishing. I do not blame her for taking the easy way out. Not many are strong enough to even survive the situation. I suppose that this is why I sent her to purgatory. Perhaps maybe a spirit like her could live on to redeem themselves.
Same, cool game anyway
I personally consider Purgatory the true ending (in my head canon) so I'm glad you felt similarly too. Her actions were indeed morally grey but I wanted to offer moral options since I think any ending is indeed valid.
